Pin Wheel Rolls Recipe from the 1920’s! Very Good! it says.

Another recipe from the same notebook. I typed it out word for word… I swear.

Add one cup sugar to flour after sifting 4 cups of flour, one salt spoon of salt.

1 teaspoon soda, & one of baking powder. Either can be used alone, only use more baking powder, about 3 teaspoonfuls if no soda is used, sift together – rub in three quarter cup of fat or use teacup full of thick cream.

Mix with cup of sour milk if you have any; or any kind of wetting just as you would for tea biscuits & roll out 1/4 inch thick.

Spread with the following mixture half a cup brown sugar – sifted flour well mixed make to spread like thick cream by adding beaten egg, may take more then one, but not two, add what is left to cake; having mixed this ready to spread first – before wetting them roll up like jelly roll & cut in half inch slices.
