Before Hugh Jackman launched his epic career as Wolverine that role was awarded to Stephen Dougray Scott. At the time, Scott was still in production working on another film. In between his shooting schedule he began working with Gord Smith and his iconic Smith FX studios developing the prosthetics for the Wolverine character. Unfortunately for Scott, the film he was working on ran over schedule and he had to back out of the X-Men franchise and walk away from one of the most well known film characters in modern history.
