Description

Incredible entomology frame original to the Niagara Falls Museum created and signed in bugs by Thomas Barnett himself, the founder of the museum. ‘THE ART OF SCIENCETO UNFOLD IS RICHER THAN THE FINEST GOLD. NIAGARA FALLS MARCH 1881’ written entirely with insects. Housed and displayed in it’s original wooden shadow box frame. The Niagara Falls Museum was the longest operating privately owned museum in North America, opening to the public in 1828 and finally closing it’s doors in 1999. Absolutely incredible and historically significant piece. Shadowbox frame needs some restoration, the majority of bugs complete and in place however age appropriate wear. Detailed condition report available upon request.
28 x 24 x 3 inches deep
