Description
Celadon Plates have the characteristic thick curd like late Ming-earlly Ching glaze which is normally grey-white or off-green in colour. Like the famous Lung Chuan Celadon Plates, they have an unglazed band in the well of the plate. The base is unglazed. Created for Provincial or Village use and exported during the 17th and 18th centuries as ballast in sailing ships.
