A very unique pair of framed pieces memorializing Angus MacAsKill who in 1888 died at the age of 52. The lot includes two ornately framed pieces. The first is a beautiful carved original wooden framed shadow box holding an ornate coffin plaque surrounded by 8 metallic decorative sheaves of wheat gathered by a hand sickle blade. The plaque reads ANGUS MACASKILL DIED APRIL 7, 1888 AGED 52 YEARS. The second piece is a full plate hand-coloured tintype photograph of Angus, housed in an ornate gold frame decorated in a floral motif featuring a center band of red mohair or velvet fabric and a heavy gold coloured mat.
