Philips Planisphere

Philips’ Planisphere has taken on almost a cult like status within the occult com- munity. Although the Planosphere’s popularity dictates that it is still created to- day, this original example dates to the latter 19th century. It features a leather disc overlay over circular paper over boards with full detailed explanation on verso. The circular heavy paper base depicts the stars and dates with a moveable guide which can be positioned to show the arrangement of the stars at any given time. It was published in London by George Philip & Son, Geographical and Educational Depot, 22 Fleet Street, (ca. 1890) and made in Germany. 10 in. in diameter Weight: .15 kilograms
