19th Century Borneo Tribal Danum Dayak Ancestral Guardian Figure, Indonesia
Powerful Dayak ancestor figure “Hampatong” collected from the Ot Danum tribes of west Borneo, such statues were erected near the main house to commemorate a deceased relative and protect the family against malevolent spirits and decease, strong weathered lichen patina from age due to more than a century under the heavy tropical rains of Borneo.
