Early 1900s large format photograph of a Greek Orthodox funeral for a child. Typical of the culture and the times, a final photograph is taken of the child in it’s coffin resting on the steps of the church surrounded by friends and family. Profoundly sad and beautiful. Photographer identified as Royal Studio 725 Barton St. E., Hamilton Ontario. Subtle sepia tones enhance the crisp image, good tone and composition. Damage to the lower left corner as can be seen in the photographs and slight foxing. Very rare image.
