1873 Alexander Graham Bell Tintype
This is a RARE cased CDV size plate tinted tintype of Alexander Graham Bell. Inventor of the telephone. Taken while apparently sickly in Montreal in 1873. CDV sized plate, which is very rare to be cased ( closed case is 2 1/2″ X 3 3/4″). No tinting on Mr. Bell himself, however, the trees are green as is the grass he stands on. Brown pillar and fence and blue and purple sky. Plate is flat clean. The image was professionally cleaned and re-sealed by a photographic conservator in 1997. The case is in good condition and has a good spine.
