R.S. (Richard) Brooke was the first photographic artist to open a studio in Dundas, C.W. he opened his doors in 1861 and continued capturing the earliest images of Dundas and it’s citizens up until 1890.
An exceptional and artistic image from a small Ontario town. The incredible mood and tonal range suggest it’s from early in his career as does the style of mount and the titling of the back stamp.
